Call for Responses: Embodied Carbon Market Readiness Survey

The National Research Council of Canada (NRC) has commissioned Arup to assess industry readiness for future embodied greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions provisions in the 2030 National Model Codes. The study examines current practices, industry capacity, workforce skills, assessment costs, project impacts, barriers and opportunities, and the ability of organizations to respond to future demand.

Your input will help NRC understand where the industry is positioned and where additional guidance, skills, tools, data, or capacity may be needed to support future code implementation.

Two survey options are available, please pick only 1 to complete:

Option A – General Survey

  • Takes less than 10 minutes and provides a quick way to share your perspective.

Option B – Comprehensive survey

  • Takes approximately 20-30 minutes and is encouraged for respondents who are experienced in completing LCAs and willing to provide more detailed information.

Please select the option that best matches your available time and experience. People who are experienced in completing LCAs are encouraged to take the more detailed survey. Multiple people from the same organization may respond.

Responses will be anonymized before analysis and reporting, and no identifying information will be shared publicly or attributed to individual responses.

Please complete the survey by November 22nd, 2026.
